Kyler Thompson, a student at NVC, president of the LGBT Club and a student worker in the Office of Student Life, lead the way for the rainbow flag to be raised on campus in honor of LGBTQ Pride Month in June. The rainbow flag is a symbol of LGBTQ social movements and the colors reflect the diversity of the LGBTQ community,
“As the president of the LGBT club, I want to thank you all for your efforts of being supportive of the LGBT program and students on campus,” said Thompson. “This is such an evolving time and I am beyond happy with the support the college is showing.”
The LGBT Education Program at Napa Valley College prepares students pursuing careers in a variety of fields that serve LGBTQ populations. The program supports students currently earning certificates or degrees in child development, education, criminal justice, human services, all health occupations, business and hospitality. It is ideal for anyone working with and serving members of the LGBTQ community. The program also prepares students for transfer to colleges and universities offering advanced degrees in LGBT Studies.
