Free Virtual ‘Cash for College’ Financial Aid Workshop Offered

Travis Credit Union (TCU) is hosting a virtual ‘Cash for College’ event on Saturday, February 27 with Napa Valley College (NVC) featuring free college financial aid workshops for the community. Students and their families who attend the live workshops will receive assistance completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the California Dream Act (for eligible AB540 students), and the Chafee Grant application (for eligible foster youth).

During the annual event, Napa Valley College will provide direct assistance via Zoom in English and Spanish to students and families seeking to complete financial aid applications online. TCU and Napa Valley College will also offer a live scholarship webinar (which will be available on-demand at traviscu.org/webinars). Pre-registration is required.

The schedule is as follows:
• 10 a.m.-noon ‘Cash for College’ workshop (presented in Spanish) register here
• 11:30a.m. -1p.m.: ‘How to Earn Scholarships’ webinar (presented in English) register here
• 1p.m.- 3p.m.: ‘Cash for College’ workshop (presented in English) register here

Napa Valley College recommends that anyone joining the virtual event bring the following financial documents if available: federal income tax returns from 2019, W-2 forms, paycheck stubs or any records of earned income, current bank statements and records of stocks, bonds or other investments. Additional information on requirements for financial aid can be found on the Napa Valley College Financial Aid Office website.
